WHE travelled with Ark Productions to check out the goings-on at The Health Show at Vancouver's Trade and Convention Centre.

You can have a virtual experience, but nothing compares to being there.

At the event we were looking for the bright lights of the current state of health.

One 'trend' that we discovered is the discovery of the role of pH in water as a means of restoring health. The book that everyone's referring to is the "pH Miracle For Weight Loss".












WHE was impressed by the folks at the h20miracle, who gave us these vivid displays and answered the question, so what's the optimal level of pH for water?

So how do you get this in your water? Well, you need to either get sodium hydrite, "pH drops" or sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and add it to ionized or distilled water and you'll be on your way to improved health, if we got that right.

We recommend purchasing a pH tester - available at most garden supply or pet stores so you can go 'crazy' testing what you drink. You might find that much of what we consume is in fact acidic, and consequently why we are predisposed to getting disease. Let's just start with cancer.

Cancer thrives in an acidic environment and dies in an alkaline environment. Hey that's easy, eh?

Make about a litre of the ionic/distilled water with a couple of teaspoons of baking soda and drink it all up and you'll be on a start to losing weight and likely decreasing tumours and other cancer-related conditions. Of course, WHE recommends consulting with a naturopath, nutritionist, homeopath, herbalist and even your doctor for their advice on your unique condition.

Here is what happens when you put olive oil into 'acidic' (on the left) and 'alkaline' water (on the right). The acidic water actually prevents the olive oil - and its benefits - from entering your system, whereas the alkaline water assimilates or integrates by osmosis the goodness into itself, hence the 'creamy' look of the water ;)









Of course, you can read the book too. Pages 64-71 really give you the straight dope on the deal with water. It's worth a read, though if you check out the author's web page, you will see how they are capitalizing on something that is quite simple, let's hope it catches on with the international health care systems!

WHE was also impressed by the folks at heartfeltliving who were promoting some revolutionary products in their own right.

Their first product that caught our interest is the himalayan crystal salt (at left). You may have seen these around in health food stores. They are often used as lights, but are also consumed as an enhancement to our health.

According to one of my mates there is some skepticism about the salts (and vitamins) situation as the Scientologists have been promoting it as a means to healing various mental illnesses.

There are numerous sources of research which support this theory, which makes sense when you consider how denatured our food is, even that which comes from certified organic sources. Here's some background from A Health Cafe.

WHE'd like to hear some dialogue on this. We understand that Tom Cruise got himself into some hot water over his stance on vitamins and mental health. What's the real story?

But what else impressed us was the
additional 'soap nuts' (at right). These nuts, harvested from a perennial tree in India can be used to replace harsh industrial detergents.

The additional benefit is that the nuts can be composted afterwards ;)
